Readmitted (Former) Students

OASES is committed to supporting and enhancing the educational experiences of the adult learner. Returning to college can be challenging and some policies and procedures may have changed since you were here before.  Please take advantage of the services in OASES to support your academic success.

Steps for Success! 

Step One: Fill out the readmit application
  • Follow the process for readmission for former students and submit application. 
  • Contact OASES (704-687-5104) to discuss general education requirements, understanding new college policies, reconnecting with to your academic department, and utilizing campus resources available to adult and nontraditional students.  
Step Two: Once you are readmitted - Advising and Registration
  • Reactivate your NinerNet Account ( If you have declared your major, you will need to contact your major advisor or department for an advising appointment to discuss registration and to lift the advising hold. To register for courses, log into your My UNC Charlotte account and click the Registration, Add/Drop link. 
Step Three: Preparing for the semester
  • If you have been out of the classroom for a number of years, you may want to attend one of our Adult Student Orientation events. Learn about scholarships and other services for adult learners, tips for academic success, and getting prepared to start the semester!
  • Waive or enroll in UNC Charlotte’s health insurance. All students are required to show proof of health insurance or pay the fee for coverage through the University. 
  • Get connected by signing up for our Adult Student Connections Canvas page. Accept the invitation to meet other adult learners, get answers to your questions about being an adult student at UNC Charlotte, and find helpful resource information. Don't see the course invitation? 49er Finish Students

  • Developed in 2005, the 49er Finish Program assists former undergraduate UNC Charlotte students with 90+  credit hours, 2.0 CGPA or better, and in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing to develop a plan for completing a degree. Using a concierge and personal advising approach, the program aims to make the transition as smooth as possible for 49er Finish students returning to UNC Charlotte. 

  • Offered through the Office of Adult Students & Evening Services (OASES), the 49er Finish Program serves as a model degree completion program across the state and nation. This program was named a 'Model of Excellence' in the 2015 winter edition of the University Business Magazine. Staff have presented national webinars on the program and created an innovative model to share with UNC system institutions.
