Employees can also borrow required textbooks for free through the Faculty Staff Textbook Loan Program.

Tuition waiver program

Eligible full-time, permanent, faculty and staff can take up to three free courses a year from any of the 17 schools within the UNC system. Courses can be used to earn a degree or simply pursue intellectual interests. Employees will complete an electronic form through Banner Self Service. Managers and other offices will review and approve employees’ requests online, too. More information, including an FAQ and a guide document, is available on the HR website.
